Grace Ladoja Shares Inspiring Journey About Cancer Battle

British-Nigerian music executive Grace Ladoja has shared a deeply personal account of her recent health struggles, revealing her battle with breast cancer in an emotional video that has resonated widely online.

In the video shared on her account and obtained by BlackBox Nigeria, Ladoja disclosed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2025 and has since been undergoing treatment.

Describing the experience as one of the most challenging periods of her life, Ladoja reflected on the emotional and physical toll of the illness, while expressing gratitude for survival and recovery.

She said the journey had been marked by uncertainty, strength and faith, adding that she now has a renewed appreciation for life.

“It has been a journey… and I’m just grateful to be alive,” she said in the video, according to excerpts shared online.

Beyond sharing her diagnosis, Ladoja used the platform to encourage others facing similar struggles, urging them to remain hopeful and prioritise their health.

Her message has since drawn support from fans, colleagues and members of the creative industry, many of whom praised her courage in speaking publicly about a sensitive issue.

Ladoja, a daughter of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja is widely recognised for her impact on the global music scene, having worked with leading artists and founded cultural platforms that promote African creativity.

She is also the founder of the Homecoming Festival in Lagos, an initiative aimed at connecting African talent with global audiences.

At Music Week magazine’s annual UK awards night in 2017, Ladoja received the Rising Star award. At the 2021 awards night, Ladoja received the Entrepreneur award.

In 2018, she received an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for services to the music industry.

From 2018 to 2021, Ladoja has been included in several lists of influential women.

Ladoja and Nigerian rapper Teni Zachaeus also known as TeeZee are partners and in 2021 they announced the birth of their first child.

Her revelation has added to ongoing conversations about cancer awareness, particularly among women, with many observers noting the importance of early detection and open dialogue.
