Nigeria’s most controversial state executive, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti has challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to stop the harrasment of his Zamfara state conterpart, AbdulAziz Yari.
This is following claims by the anti-graft agency that Yari who is the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum fraudulently diverted the sums of N500m and $500,000 from Paris Club refunds to some investments in Lagos.
BlackBox Nigeria reports that a visibly angry Fayose took to Twitter last night to call out the Federal Government for using the EFCC to harrass Governors.
“Governor Yari is the leader of all the State Governors in Nigeria. He deserves some level of respect from Magu and his gangs in the EFCC,” one of the tweets by the Ekiti Governor read.

The Nigerian Governors Forum has also shown support to Yari stating that he has no Property in Lagos and has at no time diverted any funds meant for the state as being claimed by the EFCC.
