Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured that his administration will put an end to housing deficit in the State in order to ensure proper data in the real estate sector.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated this at a policy roundtable dialogue organised by the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority, LASRERA with the theme: International Best Practices on Real Estate Regulations.
According to the Governor, the real essence of governance is to provide platform for the vulnerable in the society, adding that suggestions made by the stakeholders have been noted and necessary measures will be acted upon.
He said that lack of data in the real estate industry gave birth to this initiative, claiming that both government and private sector, must come together to do things seamlessly.
Earlier in her Welcome address, Special adviser to the Governor on Housing, Toke Benson-Awoyinka said the unveiling of LASRERA registration portal was to help facilitate investment into the state and also allay fears of investors in the sector.
She noted that the reason for the LASRERA Portal is to provide protection for citizens, while pleading with all and sundry to support the state government to eliminate all activities of fraudulent practice by agents and developers.
Benson-Awoyinka however added that the event complements the Smart City Intiative Of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ‘s Administration, where service delivery will be technology driven and readily available to the masses.
