Government Magic! Five Dead As Boko Haram Returns Dapchi School Girls

In a development that is looking more magical than reality, the federal government says 76 of the 110 abducted Dapchi schoolgirls have been released.

Sources told BlackBox Nigeria that the girls are being taken to Dapchi Hospital and the rescued girls confirmed that five of them died in captivity, two women were seen being carried unconscious into Dapchi Hospital, they are likely parents of the deceased.

The schoolgirls, abducted from Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state, returned Wednesday morning.

Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, in a statement said the release of the girls was “unconditional”.

He said the process is still ongoing and that only 76 have been documented so far.

“For the release to work, the government had a clear understanding that violence and confrontation would not be the way out as it could endanger the lives of the girls, hence a non-violent approach was the preferred option,” he said.

A governorship aspirant under Opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, Babatunde Gbadamosi, now with the Advance Democratic Party (ADP) said in a tweet that the whole process looks more like a telenovella.

“5 girls murdered, the rest returned, terrorists empowered. Is this governance or a bad telenovella?”
