On Sunday, January 12, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer and fitness enthusiast, was arrested in Orozo, a community bordering Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), after being caught with the severed head of his girlfriend.
In a video that has gone viral, Ajayi was seen being restrained by church members and questioned about a black bag he had thrown into a nearby river.
Eyewitnesses revealed that a church member had noticed Ajayi acting suspiciously near the river during their Sunday service and alerted others. When confronted, Ajayi denied wrongdoing but later attempted to flee. He was subdued after a struggle involving four men according to sources familiar with the matter.
Further investigation revealed that Ajayi had not only severed the head of his girlfriend but also dismembered her entire body. In another video circulating online, her remains were shown being recovered and subsequently buried.
When questioned by the police, Ajayi admitted to killing his girlfriend during an argument, claiming she had attacked him with a knife before he retaliated fatally. He disclosed that he was transporting her severed head to deliver it to a woman who had instructed him to do so.
