The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of controversial self-styled prophet, Eboh Noah, following his viral prophecy that the world would come to an end by flood on December 25, 2025, BlackBox Nigeria has learnt.
Eboh Noah, whose real name is Evans Eshun, had stirred panic across parts of Ghana and beyond after claiming that God revealed to him that a massive flood would destroy the world on Christmas Day.
BlackBox Nigeria reported that he even constructed several wooden arks and urged people to secure spots in them for salvation.
The prophecy, which quickly gained traction on social media, led to a significant public response, with thousands reportedly traveling to see the “arks” and some preparing for the supposed catastrophe.
Police said Eboh Noah was arrested by a special cyber monitoring unit over concerns that his claims were capable of inciting fear, panic, and public disorder. Authorities emphasized that while religious freedom is respected, actions that threaten public safety or spread dangerous misinformation will be scrutinized.
The arrest comes months after the prophet was initially questioned and released, with officials then treating the matter as a religious expression.
However, the growing public reaction and international attention appear to have forced a renewed intervention.
Investigations are ongoing, and the police have yet to announce any formal charges. Eboh Noah remains in custody, and officials have reminded the public that he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
