Gbenga Daniel without allowing the news of his decampment to further fester took to his official Twitter handle, @justusOGD few hours ago to reaffirm that indeed he had retired from PDP and from partisan politics.

He also cleared the air that the reported meeting where he made the decision to join the ruling party was based on the request of his supporters and there was no ambiguity to the purpose of the meeting.

Gbenga Daniel also revealed that the meeting availed him the opportunity to listen to his supporters who were still very much interested in partisan politics while he urged them to join any party of their choice as he was now non-partisan and didn’t promise to lead them to APC as was reported in the media.

His tweets below,

I have resigned from PDP and from partisan politics. I did that in writing, no ambiguities. A meeting was held today and the meeting was reported with the request of my people. There was no ambiguity.

I listened carefully to them and I permitted them to join any political party of their choice since I have become non partisan. I did not agree to lead them to APC. Accurate reporting without ambiguities is desired. Thanks

Recall that BlackBoix Nigeria had earlier reported that Otunba Gbanga Daniel on Saturday resigned from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, saying he was quitting politics.

Apart from governing Ogun under the PDP, Mr Daniel was the chief campaign strategist of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in last month’s election.
