The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila on Wednesday held a virtual meeting with a handful of his constituents.

The town hall interactive session with the constituents was held via a zoom conference call and had in attendance representatives of some front line workers in Surulere Local Government.

During the meeting, Speaker Gbajabiamila encouraged the Medical practitioners as he disclosed that they are very important to the well-being of Nigerians and promised to always fight for their needs. He then added that he will be paying 50% of hazard allowance to about 450 Doctors and health workers of the Randle General Hospital, Surulere, Lagos.

The Speaker further disclosed that he is an advocate for the welfare of health workers as he is committed to helping out in whatever capacity. He said this was the reason the House agitated for the N4bn that was recently released to the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

The Speaker also used the online session to give account of stewardship of his activities in the last 365 days as their representative at the lower chamber of the National Assembly. He discussed about some developmental projects which includes rehabilitation of inner roads, provision of solar street lights among others.

He also added that he has distributed about 12 buses to notable organisations including Women Associations, religious groups, Nigerian Union of Teachers, among others.
