Former Governor of Kano State and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The announcement was made on Wednesday during the official inauguration of the newly constituted FAAN board in Abuja.

Ganduje’s new appointment comes just days after he resigned from his position as APC National Chairman, citing health reasons.

His resignation ended months of internal party tensions and speculation over his future political role.

The former governor now assumes a strategic oversight role in one of Nigeria’s most critical aviation agencies, with responsibilities and monitoring the overall performance of airport operations across the country.

As Chairman of FAAN’s board, Ganduje is expected to work with aviation stakeholders to enhance service delivery, improve infrastructure, and reposition Nigeria’s airports in line with international standards.
