The Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode has formally rejected the completed lineage and membership form submitted by renowned musician Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Adewale Olasunkanmi Adesanya, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, as part of his aspiration to the Awujale throne.
In a letter dated December 11, 2025, and signed by key representatives of the ruling house, including the Chairman, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, and Head of Jadiara Royal House, Otunba Akinola Odedina, the family described the submission as “null, void and of no consequence.”
The ruling house noted that the form, dated December 10, was allegedly signed by Wasiu Ayinde but was certified two days earlier on December 8 by Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Enubodo, a person the family says is neither a registered member of the Jadiara Royal House nor authorized to certify any such form.
“The form was not signed by the authorised representative (Family Head) of your purported Family Unit,” the letter stated.
“Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Enubodo… has no locus standi to sign any linkage form on behalf of the family.”
The letter also emphasized that independent verification found no evidence that K1 has ancestral ties to either the Jadiara Royal House or the wider Fusengbuwa Ruling House.
In conclusion, the family reaffirmed that “your claim to the membership of Fusengbuwa Ruling House is rejected”, warning that the submitted form holds no validity in the ongoing succession process for the Awujale of Ijebuland.
The statement, signed by seven prominent members of the ruling house, including the General Secretary and Vice-Chairman, has been widely circulated as the royal succession contest heats up.
