The Fusengbuwa Ruling House has officially acknowledged receipt of a letter of intent from popular Fuji maestro and cultural icon, Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe (MON) popularly known as K1 de Ultimate, expressing his desire to be considered for the vacant royal stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland.
In a letter dated December 4, 2025, addressed to Otunba Wasiu also known as K1 De Ultimate the family head, Otunba Abdul Lateef Adebayo Owoyemi, confirmed that the letter of intent dated December 3 was received via the singer’s emissary, Prince Adedoyin, at his Idowa residence.
However, the ruling house noted that the letter lacked important contact details, including Wasiu Ayinde’s office or home address and phone number.
These omissions were later resolved after the emissary provided the artist’s WhatsApp contact.
The ruling house has now directed Wasiu Ayinde to immediately complete and return the Fusengbuwa Ruling House Individual Member’s Particulars House Linkage Data Form, duly witnessed and countersigned by the head of his royal lineage.
Additionally, he is required to collect and fill the Oba Awujale Candidate’s Obaship application form and an Irrevocable Undertaking, submitting three clear copies for further consideration.
Although the official deadline for application submissions is 5:00 pm on Friday, December 5, the ruling house has granted an extension of three working days, moving the final deadline to Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
The response underscores that due process will be followed in the selection of the next Awujale, and all applicants will be subjected to the same procedural standards in accordance with Ijebu customary law and Ogun State Chieftaincy Laws.
Otunba Wasiu Ayinde, a recipient of the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) and the Mayegun of Yorubaland, is among notable personalities vying for the highly revered royal stool following the recent vacancy.
