Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian president, has directed that the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) be withdrawn.
Recall that Imam was recently on October 13 appointed by Tinubu “for a renewable term of four (4) years, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the FERMA Amendment Act, 2007”.
Following this, there have been a public uproar with netizens claiming that lacked the adequate experience appointment for the position.
In a new development, presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed on Thursday that the withdrawal of the nomination is to take effect immediately without any barricade.
While Ngelale clarified that all other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive in any way, he did not give any rationale behind the decision.
