With about two months and some days left for the governorship election in Osun State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday, released the final list of the candidates.
A total of 15 candidates, representing different political parties, will be partaking in the poll billed to hold on July 16. The leading contenders are incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, in a statement, noted that Section 32(2) of the Electoral Act stipulates that any political party that observes that the name of its candidate is missing from the list should notify the Commission in writing.
