The Abia state government has commenced construction of a 5-Bedroom Bungalow for its party, Labour Party’s woman leader, Rita Ukpai Nnaochin, who is living in a mud house, in Ohafia area of the state.
This was revealed on Saturday, in a post by the Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to the Deputy Governor Of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu , Authority Micheal Ukpabi.
According to the post, the bungalow is a way to show appreciation to Nnaochin, for her support during and after the election campaign before victory.
Speaking at the location, Engr. Emetu, who visited her, stated that he had promised to upgrade her standard of living immediately after being declared winner, and that’s what he had just done.
He said, “I was touched to upscale her standard of living after I paid her a visit as a Women Leader and realized where she comes from, the distance she most times trek to attend party functions and campaign for the Labour Party during the elections”. I promised to change her Standard of living immediately we emerge victorious, I’m only fulfilling my promise, we keep our word, she deserves more”
He therefore stated that the current administration of Dr. Alex Otti, OFR prioritizes the welfare of Abians and more of such benevolence to alleviate poverty and upgrade the Standard of living of Abians will be felt.
Expressing their gratitude, Nnaochin & her husband Mr Nnaochim Ukpai appreciated the government for such uncommon kindness with prayers and blessings.
