Former Vice President, Atiku Defeats Tambuwal, Saraki And Others, Picks PDP Presidential Ticket
Nigeria’s former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party in next year General Election after pulling the highest votes at the just concluded PDP Convention in Rivers State.
A BlackBox Nigeria source who was present at the venue of the convention disclosed that the election process was simple as all delegates present castes their votes and waited for the results to be announced.
Delegates at the convention included Mr President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, all 12 presidential aspirants and other top party delegates.
At the end of the collation, Nigeria’s Senate President, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki emerged second runner up with 317 votes as Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Hon Aminu Tambuwal polled 693 votes as the runner up behind Atiku who emerged winner with a total of 1,532 votes.
