Former Nigerian Immigration Service Comptroller-General David Shikfu Parradang was reportedly killed by suspected kidnappers in Abuja’s Area 1. However, there are conflicting reports about the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to counter-insurgency specialist Zagazola Makama, Parradang was followed from a bank, seized of his cash, and then killed ¹. This account suggests a targeted attack, highlighting concerns about security in the Federal Capital Territory.

In contrast, the Federal Capital Territory Command of the Nigeria Police Force claims that Parradang died in a hotel room after checking in with a female guest.

The police report does not mention kidnapping or foul play.

Parradang had a distinguished career in public service, spanning over 30 years, and was awarded the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).

His death is under investigation, with efforts to apprehend those responsible.

Daily Trust reported that while the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has not yet officially released a statement with regards to the incident, an official from the Immigration headquarters in Abuja has stated that the information is accurate.
