Tosin Onamade, a former aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly in Ikorodu, and the owner of western home in Ijede, was brutally murdered last night.
According to a source who speak anonymously, he was relaxing when he was lured out and shot.
Back in 2021, Onamade’s cemetery was attacked, resulting in the death of one of his staff members and a brutal attack on his brother who defended his life when attacked.
Onamade had said his political adversaries of complicity in the attack, citing political differences.
Although the cult members responsible for the attack were arrested and are currently on trial, the politician Onomade pointed to was exonerated by the court.
Now, speculation is rife that Onamade’s refusal to drop the matter associated with the attack of his cemetery may have led to his killing.
Many believe that the cult members, still facing trial for the 2021 murder, orchestrated Onamade’s killing in retaliation.
The investigation into Onamade’s murder is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
When BlackBox Nigeria correspondent reached out to the DPO of Ijede Police Station to confirm the news, he answered in the affirmative saying our correspondent have to come to the station.
“I don’t have the right to release such information to anybody. If you want a statement from the police, come to the station”, he said.
