Former Labour Party Spokesman in Lagos Becomes State Coordinator of Obidient Movement

The Obidient Movement has unveiled its State Coordinating Council (SCC) for Lagos State, marking a major step in its mission to strengthen grassroots organisation and political engagement within the state.

In a statement signed by Hon. Seyi Sowunmi, the South-West Coordinator of the Movement, Mr. Ife Salako, former spokesman of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, was announced as the new State Coordinator of the Obidient Movement in Lagos.

According to the statement, the formation of the SCC represents a pivotal milestone in our collective pursuit of a nation that uplifts and empowers every individual. Sowunmi said the process of setting up the council was guided by transparency, inclusiveness, and collaboration with all stakeholders and support groups across the state.

“We recognize that delays have tested your resolve, but these moments of careful deliberation were essential to ensure an inclusive, transparent, and collaborative approach,” the statement read. “Your steadfast faith in this process has fortified our resolve and deepened our unity, proving that together, we are unstoppable.”

Other members of the newly appointed council include;
Deputy Coordinators: Mrs. Samira Ibrahim (Central), Mr. Chris C. Ibeokoye (East), and Pastor Ibironke Ogboro (West).
Secretary: Mr. John Alor; Assistant Secretary: Ms. Gift Amarachi; Treasurer: Mr. Thomas Olaniyan; and Financial Secretary: Ekpe Iziegbe Omozele.
Director of Political Engagement: Ms. Adamma Ukpabi; Director of Mobilization: Mr. Olaleke Okunsanya; Deputy Director of Mobilization: Prince Richard Oru.
Director of Communication: Mr. Olugbega Ogbamola; Deputy Director of Communication: Prince I. Savior; and Director of ICT: Mr. Uche M.O. Uzomba.

The council also includes leaders in women, youth, and research development roles, with the aim of deepening civic participation and advancing the movement’s ideals in Lagos.

The statement urged members of the Obidient Movement to support the newly inaugurated leadership, emphasizing unity and shared purpose. “Empower them with your love, your strength, and your unshakeable belief as they lead us toward the radiant horizons of our shared aspirations,” the statement read.

The statement further appealed to members who may feel overlooked or disappointed by the leadership selections to remain steadfast, assuring them that their passion and contributions remain vital to the cause.

“A new Nigeria that works for all, irrespective of religion, tribe, social status or political affiliation, is possible,” the statement concluded.
