By Eric Arubayi, a contestant of West African Idols was reported to have died today after allegedly using an unnamed expired malaria drugs.
He contested alongside Timi Dakolo and Omawumi. He later became a gospel singer after the reality show.
Eric, who emerged 3rd runner up at West African Idols is the son of the immediate past Vice Chancellor of Delta State University.
He died at the Delta State University Teaching hospital after a brief illness.
The late handsome gospel artiste was once engaged to ex-Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s daughter, Orode but the planned wedding was later called off
He later married a beautiful lady, Chinonso with whom he had a child.
Asides doing gospel music, Eric was also one of the lead choir members of the prestigious House on the Rock Church of Pastor Paul Adefarati.
