Mr. Ossai Ovie Success, a former aide to Delta State’s ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has issued a stern warning to Nigerian music sensation Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, regarding his recent involvement in an anti-drug campaign.
Success has threatened legal action against Naira Marley, expressing skepticism about the musician’s commitment to the cause.
Naira Marley, who gained fame for his unique blend of music and outspoken persona, recently paid a visit to the headquarters of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja.
During his visit, he pledged his support for the NDLEA’s efforts to combat drug abuse among youths, particularly his fan base known as “Marlians.”
The music artist’s participation in the campaign has ignited a range of reactions across social media platforms.
While many praised his stance against drug abuse, others, like Ossai Ovie Success, raised concerns about the authenticity of Naira Marley’s commitment.
Taking to his Facebook page, Ovie Success posed a thought-provoking question, questioning whether Naira Marley had genuinely refrained from smoking before advocating against it.
He cautioned that if he were to witness any evidence of Naira Marley smoking, whether in a music video or real life, he would not hesitate to pursue legal action against both the musician and any artists signed to his record label who were found engaging in such behavior.
He wrote,
“I will sue NDLEA if I see Nairamarley smoking on his music video or on the ground, and if any of the artists signed to his record label are seen smoking.
“I hope @officialnairam1 has stopped smoking before being paid by NDLEA to campaign against smoking and drugs.
“I am watching him carefully because I am happy with this campaign.”
