The Nigerian female football team, the Super Falcons, received a warm welcome from the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
This event follows the team’s exit from the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The Super Falcons’ journey in the tournament was halted by a heartbreaking penalty shootout loss to the English team on August 7.
Despite their early departure, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who recently met with the triumphant Nigeria female basketball team, D’Tigresses, has showcased her dedication to uplifting Nigerian female sports figures.
While the team faced a setback, the First Lady praised their exceptional performance in the match against England.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her pride in the players’ determination and commitment during the Round of 16 encounters in the ongoing World Cup.
The match was described as a gripping showdown, with the Nigerian girls showing resilience and skill.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu emphasized that the English team’s triumph was largely attributed to luck, reiterating her pride in the Super Falcons’ remarkable performance.
