The Palace of Isheri-Olofin, Oba Wahab Balogun, was gutted by fire on Sunday, Blackboxnigeria gathered.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), while confirming the incident, said the fire was caused by high voltage electricity, razing one of the rooms in the eight-bedroom bungalow on the premises of the palace.
The spokesperson for LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor said post-disaster assessment was conducted by the team and there is no threat of re-ignition as the fire was extinguished with copious volume of water.
“Also, the eight-room bungalow did not show signs of structural defects as a result of the fire.
The operation has been concluded”, he said.
