Finally, Ganduje Dethrones Sanusi As Emir Of Kano
The bad blood between Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje and Emir of Kano, Muhammad Lamido Sanusi II has finally resorted to the former dethroning the latter.
It will be recalled that the relationship between the two became frosty before the 2019 General elections which almost caused Governor Ganduje his second term bid. Sanusi’s images was thereafter destroyed in the Kano State Government House.
According to the statement released by Tanko Yakasai, the State Executive Council found the Emir guilty of profligacy and mismanagement of funds belonging to Kano Emirate. He was thereby dethroned going by an unanimous decision.
Sanusi, a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria has been known to be a prolific critic of economic policies of the Federal Government which has been perceived to be against the State Government. He has since been in troubled waters with Governor Ganduje.
The State has since announced that a new replacement for the position of the vacant 1st class traditioner ruler will be announced shortly.
