The Federal Government has disbursed the sum of N56,842,780,000 to 1,079,323 persons, companies and businesses including those registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under the Survival Fund program.
The Chairperson of the Survival Fund Steering Committee, Maryam Katagum, revealed this on Tuesday at a news conference in Abuja.
Katagum, who is also the Minister of State, Industry Trade and Investment, also flagged off the guaranteed off- take scheme with 50,032 beneficiaries already shortlisted.
The minister said the target was 100,000 but at the time portal closed, only 65,976 application were received. 50,032 entries from all over Nigeria scaled the pre-qualification test and we’re shortlisted.
She further confirmed that the sum of N56,842,780,000 has been disbursed to 1,079,323 including those registered under CAC to date.
Noting that there was a drop in demand for corporate household products due to covid 19 outbreak, the federal government introduced the guaranteed off-take scheme.
This is the last component of the survival fund concieved to assist small businesses.
