FG Denies Compiling ‘No-fly List’ Of #EndSARS protesters

The Federal Government of Nigeria has cleared the air on the media reports that it compiled a ‘no-fly list’ of persons who partook in the recent #EndSARS protests.

This clarification was stated in a tweet by the Federal Ministry of Interior via its official handle, @MinOfInteriorNG. “The Ministry of Interior did not, has not and will not generate any no-fly list. Ignore fake news, please!” the tweet read.

A prominent #ENDSARS mobiliser, Modupe Odele, was reportedly stopped from travelling by the Nigeria Immigration Service on Monday. This action was conceived by many to be related to her mobilisation and support for the protests, though explanations were offered.

Through her Twitter handle, @Mochievous, she helped mobilise support for the protests. Not only that, Odele offered free legal aid to persons who were unjustly arrested during the demonstrations aside from giving details of support for protesters.

The lawyer disclosed she was on her way to the Maldives to celebrate her birthday when she was accosted by immigration officers. Odele said she was detained while her passport was seized by the officers, forcing her to miss her flight.
