In a surprising twist to recent events, the Federal Government has appointed Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, as an ambassador for proper airport security protocol.

This development follows the controversial incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where the music veteran was accused of obstructing a ValueJet aircraft, leading to a public uproar and a six-month flight ban imposed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

However, after KWAM 1 showed public remorse and cooperated with authorities, the ban was reviewed and reduced to one month.

The NCAA also withdrew its criminal complaint, clearing the path for a reconciliatory resolution.

Announcing the new ambassadorial role, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said the move aims to promote awareness and respect for aviation safety protocols among the public.

“FAAN will engage him as an ambassador to help sensitise passengers on airport security rules,” Keyamo said, highlighting the need for better passenger education.
