Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose yesterday emerged as the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Governors’ Forum in a meeting held in Abuja.
Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State made the announcement to the press after the meeting.
Governor Dickson disclosed that following the end of tenure in office of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State who earlier occupied the seat, a new leader had to be appointed.
He said Governor Fayose being a long serving Governor in the party was approved by other Governors.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Fayose pledged to bring down the wall of jericho that existed within the party.
He also promised to bridge the gaps between all stakeholders of the party and prepare them to win back States lost to the opposition in 2015 General Elecrion as 2019 approaches.
Other Members of the Forum include; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State.
