It appears Afrobeat lovers will be ‘eating good’ this year, after Grammy-winning Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, announced that he would be going on tour with his colleague, Davido.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday afternoon, Wizkid made the announcement, saying the joint tour would come immediately after his ‘More Love Less Ego’ (MLLE) tour.
The Afrobeat star also told fans to prepare their purses to buy tickets for the tour, jokingly adding that he won’t take any excuses from defaulters.
“After my MLLE tour!! Davido and I going on tour! Save your coins! I no one hear pim!!,” Wizkid wrote.
Though the dates for the tour are yet to be made official, the announcement that two of the biggest Nigerian musicians alive would be collaborating have thrown fans into excitement.
Before now, Wizkid and Davido have been rumoured to have a longstanding beef, said to be fuelled by fans who always engage in social media face-offs over who is greater between the duo.
But a joint music tour from the two musicians isn’t just a big win for Afrobeat, but would also bring an end to their much-talked-about rift.
