Family cries out over son’s controversial death, demands investigation

The family of a photographer identified as Suleiman Balogun has been thrown into confusion following the controversial circumstances surrounding his death.

It was gathered that Balogun — a graduate of Chemical Science from Olabisi Onabanjo University — reportedly got missing while travelling to Kano State for a photography gig.

He was said to have boarded a bus from Alaba Rago Park in Lagos to cover his friend’s wedding ceremony in Kano on March 2, 2022, but he never arrived his destination.

Late Balogun.

Worried about his whereabouts, Balogun’s family members and friends after realizing that his lines couldn’t be reached began a search.

Their search led to the bus park where he was last seen. To their shock, they were informed that the bus the photographer boarded was involved in a fatal accident and he died in the process.

According to representatives of the bus park, Balogun’s remains have since been buried — without prior notification to his family or their permission.

Reacting to this development, a family member who asked not to be named informed our correspondent that the family has notified the Area A Festac Police Station in Lagos.

“This case calls for suspicious and the family urges the government to unravel case of disappearance of Balogun.

“We have formally written the Nigerian Police on this suspicious case of death. How will you allege that a grown up man died in an auto crash and was given a “mass burial” without contacting the families even when the contacts of “next of kin” were provided at the Park? Something is definitely fishy,” he said.
