The family of one-year-old Akinyemi Taiwo Adewunmi is calling on well-meaning Nigerians and the general public for urgent financial support to help save their daughter’s life.
Akinyemi Taiwo was diagnosed with Tricuspid Atresia, a rare congenital heart defect, along with a hole in the heart.
After a recent clinical review, medical experts at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Ile-Ife, Osun State, have recommended that she undergo two life-saving open heart surgeries, the first of which must be performed as soon as possible.
The first surgery is estimated to cost ₦6 million and is critical to stabilizing her condition until the second, follow-up procedure scheduled when she turns four years old.
Her family is appealing to kind-hearted Nigerians, philanthropic organizations, and government bodies for financial assistance.
According to her father, Akinyemi Victor Adedeji, “Your support will make a world of difference in giving our baby a chance at life, to grow up healthy and live a beautiful and fulfilling life.”
