Waiting on the Lord is one of the hardest things to do. Trials and tribulations come your way, your faith is hanging on a thin thread and tossed about by the storms of life. And that is when waiting gets extremely tough.
Here are five things you can do amid the wait to keep your belief in God alive.
– Keep praying.
This might come off as funny but it is actually the most important tip. Times might be tough and you might be too weak or too upset to pray but you need strength and perseverance to hang in there. So PRAY!
– Be steadfast in faith.
Hebrews 11:1 says: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
Faith is beautiful. It is a deep supernatural belief that gives you peace and reassurance that you can never be abandoned by God. It is a constant reassurance that no matter how long, lonely and dark a journey might be, there is a resting place and that place is in the Lord’s arms.
1st Corinthians 2:5: “That your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” There will be tribulations in this world, but the word of God says “Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the son of God” — 1st John 5:5.
– Uplift your spirit.
Surround yourself with positivity always. Listen to uplifting songs, surround yourself with good friends, be a good person as well, harbour positive thoughts, manifest good things for yourself. Believe that everything is coming together for your own good.
– Keep an open mind.
While you wait on the Lord, bear two things in mind. Whatever it is you think you actually need, might not actually be a need or the time isn’t right yet. God knows it all, He knows what is right and when is right and He will provide everything you need in the right time. When you pray, ask God for patience and perseverance to wait and allow him do things according to His will.
– Work and pray.
Follow the words of God in James 2:26: “For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also is faith apart from works dead. While you wait, pray like you do not know how to work and work like you do not know how to pray.”
