By ‘Extremely Concerning’–Pope Francis Reacts to Rising Kidnappings in Nigeria

The Bishop of Rome, Pope Francis has expressed deep concerns over the escalating wave of kidnappings in Nigeria.
The 87-year-old head of the Catholic Church expressed solidarity with the Nigerian people amid the distressing surge in abductions.
He made this known in a statement on his X handle on Sunday.
Pope Francis labeled the frequent kidnappings in Nigeria as “extremely concerning.”
“The increasingly frequent kidnappings in Nigeria are extremely concerning. I express my closeness in prayer to the Nigerian people, hoping that efforts will be made to contain the spread of these incidents as much as possible,” he wrote.
