Exclusive! Nigerian Soldiers Fighting Boko Haram Laments Non-Payment Of Arrears

Amidst the renewed attacks on Nigeria’s military personnel in the northeast campaign to end Boko Haram insurgency, BlackBox Nigeria has exclusively gathered that the Nigeria Army is owing soldiers fighting on ground millions of naira accruing from arrears of payment.

In a confidential correspondence with BlackBox Nigeria, it was gathered that soldiers at the war front are being owed arrears of payment from 2018.

The mail sent to BlackBox Nigeria reads that the military Hierarchy sent a signal that no arrears are being owed again after paying N16,700 about a month ago when the actual amount each soldier ought to be entitled to should not be less than N100,000.

The Soldier who is one of those confronting the terrorist group in the northeast said retired soldiers were hurriedly paid few days to the Armed Forces Remembrance Days when those ones hinted they would go on strike and not participate in the event.

Here is the mail;

“Dear Minister of Finance,

It has come to our notice that our minimum wage arrears have not or would not be paid going by the new signal our finance corp send to various army formation last week.
Two weeks ago 16700 was paid into our various account and the following week the financial corp was sent to inform us that, that 16700 paid was the arrears of the new minimum wage.
We the organize military personal is calling on the various organ of government like the minister of finance, accountant general of the federation, chief of defence staff, chief of army staff, chief of naval staff and chief of air staff, to look into the issue. We are also calling on Mr President to check the high rate of corruption in the Nigerian military force.
Just last week, minimum wage arrear was paid to retired ex-serviceman and huge sum of money was paid into their account, we even went as far to confirm that the least paid received by them is 70000 and some of them got 500000 according to their rank, we found out that paramilitary has been paid also.
We are appealing to the minister of finance and accountant General of the federation to investigate the issue and restore our figures in respect of the New National minimum wage arrears from April to December. Share until it reaches the minister of finance and the accountant general of the federation… Share until the message gets to the top.”

    Pls help tell government to pay Nigeria soldier arrears and January salary…we have family to feed,kids to train to school and so on..please and please we are owing lots of dept now
