By Many jaws were left ajar when the Overall Graduate, Orefuwa Elizabeth Remilekun was called forward to be recognised and it was discovered the Genius of the 2015/16 Lagos State University Graduating Set was an expectant mother.
She soon was cynosure of all eyes present at the Convocation Ceremony as she was at several times called upon to receive Award Prizes on the podium.
In a brief chat with BlackBox Nigeria, the Most Sought After Lady at the Convocation disclosed how her Marriage impacted positively to her Cumulative Grade Point Average.
She said, “Before I got married in February 2016, my CGPA was at 4.72, that was in 400L First Semester. It is with the grace of God that I ended the Session with 4.74 which happens to be the Best CGPA in my Set.”
BBN asked how it was coping with marital life and studying as a full time student. But She revealed that she was not only a full time student, but also a part time lecturer at ICAN Tutorial Centres.
“My husband is really God sent. He makes sure I keep up with my academics in school and also my lecturing job. He promised me from on set that nothing will hinder me from attaining great heights,” she added.
The expectant mother got the University Prize for the Overall Best Graduate (N100,000); Best Graduate in Faculty of Education (N100,000); Prof T. A Bolurinwa Endowment Prize for Best Graduate in Faculty of Education (Undisclosed); Chief Mrs Oluremi Tinubu Endowment Prize for Best Graduating Female Student in Faculty of Education (Undisclosed); others.
