As reports of sporadic shooting by officers of the Nigerian Army continues to hit the internet, more updates has it that officers of the Nigerian Army had plans to disperse the protesters and clean the roads with water canons from the Fire Service.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that scores were dead with many others injured after soldiers took over the the Lekki Toll Gate shooting live ammunition to scare away protesters that had gathered there to champion the #EndSARS protest. The sporadic gun shots at the protesters killed about 5 protesters while many others sustained injuries.

A reader who anonymously sent a voice recording to BlackBox Nigeria disclosed that the soldiers had visited a Fire Service Station to collect water canons but were denied access to the machinery.

The witness revealed that the most senior officer at the Station despite several threats by the soldiers declined releasing the water canons to be used to disperse the protesters and cleanse the road of blood stains stating that their machines are primarily for emergency use.

The shooting of live ammunition by the soldiers happened hours after Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu deared a 24hrs curfew in the State. It was gathered that the famous Lekki Toll Gate Plaza which is usually flooded with light was thrown into darkness shortly before the Military officers started shooting at the protesters.

As at the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Government has denied involvement in the shooting just as it has announced that an investigation has commenced to ascertain what ensued at the Lekki Toll Gate Plaza in Eti Osa Local Government Area of the State.
