It is a season of fear and possible hunger at the Nigeria Police State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Panti, Yaba, Lagos, following the continued protest that an arm of the police christained Special Anti-Robbery Squad (END SARS) be disbanded because of its oppression and brutalising innocent citizens, BlackBox Nigeria can reliably report.
Even though much is not seen from the outside, an undercover engagement with SCID Panti, availed BlackBox Nigeria opportunity to see the trepidation currently pervading the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Lagos over their presidential approved ban.
The undercover agent who spoke on plea of anonymity, said;
“Officers are afraid to go for raids now.
“Someone even called an officer and wanted them to come pick up someone.
“He declined and said the current situation on ground won’t allow dem to go for any unauthorized strike action.
“Saw about 7 officers brought in for questioning and detaining today
“They instructed them to dismantle their rifles.
“Truly, they have been hit.”
The hashtag #EndSARS, #StopPolicebrutality has continued to trend on Twitter as young people shared their stories, photos and videos that they allegedly show men in Nigeria police uniforms searching their cars and harassing them.
