The Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba has brought smiles to the faces of 500 residents for yuletide through her “Ijede Tunrayo Ayo Ni Temi” Food Support programme.
Launched last year, the project doles out food items to vulnerable residents such as the physically challenged, aged and the elderly, twice a year.
The second phase of the distribution for the year 2022 was held on Wednesday, December 28, at the council secretariat with scores of dignitaries in attendance.
Delivering her remarks at the event, the Executive Chairman noted that the food support programme is a personal initiative that she conceived to bring relief to the less privileged.
“Since we started last year, we have touched thousands of families particularly the elderly and the physically challenged. I feel therefore fulfilled that this initiative is bringing relief to our people especially at a time like this when the economy of the country is making cost of living high to the average citizen,” she said.
“I am particularly happy that this second phase is coming at a season where love and goodwill should be shared to all.”
Afterwards, Gbadebo-Alogba presented the food packs to the beneficiaries who were on ground to receive them.
