Ex-LASU don, Bawa-Allah dies at 80

The pioneer Dean of the School of Transport of the Lagos State University, Dr. Tajudeen Olukayode Bawa-Allah has died aged 80.

Bawa-Allah, a doyen of the transportation industry in Nigeria, breathed his last on Saturday, after a brief illness.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that he was buried the same day at the Ikoyi Private Cemetery, Lagos, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Mogaji of Ikorodu was appointed as the General Manager of the defunct Lagos State Transport Corporation in 1986.

In recognition of his contributions to Ikorodu, he was recently honoured with “Lifetime Outstanding Award” by the Ikorodu Development Association (IKODASS) during the 30th Ikorodu Oga Day carnival.

Bawa-Allah is survived by his wife, Alhaja Abibat Bolanie Bawa-Allah, siblings, children and grandchildren.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello has mourned the passing of the sage, describing him as “a man dedicated to offering service.”
