A former Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi has clinched the party’s ticket to contest for the House of Representatives seat in Ojo Federal Constituency of Lagos.
Ogunyemi, a former two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, won the APC Reps primary which took place on Friday.
He polled 28 votes, while his closest competitor, Hon. Kayode Bibire secured 14 votes. Other aspirants in the race, Aganga Olawale and Abayomi Sodiq had ten and two votes, respectively, while Ramat Rachel Oseni got just one vote.
Ogunyemi contested for the APC ticket for the Ojo Reps seat in 2015 and 2019, but lost on both occasions.
The grassroots politician once served as the Secretary of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Lagos State between 1999 and 2003.
