Ex-Kano Pillars Star, Abdullahi Joins Bursaspor

 

Former Kano Pillars defender, Shehu Abdullahi has agreed to join Turkish club, Bursaspor on a four and half year deal.

The Nigerian international will be joining eight other Nigerians in Turkey after Bursaspor completed the transfer from his club, Anorthosis. The transfer fee was reported to be in the region of €300,000.

According to reports, Abdullahi will be earning €400,000/year as salary aside other bonuses. Anorthosis aslo included add-ons in the deal and a share of the money FIFA will pay to the club if Abdullahi eventual gets to play for the Super Eagles at the Russia 2018 World Cup later in the year.

The 24-year-old defender started his career with current Champions of Nigeria’s Professional Football League, Plateau United and then moved to Sokoto United, his home State, where he was before moving to Kano Pillars where he played till he left the country and moved to Kuwait, where he played a full season for Al-Qadsia and won three trophies with the team.

In the course of his career, he was also at Portuguese side, Uniao Madeira where he played for two seasons before moving to Cyprus despite been expected to move to a team in bigger leagues as he played with the Nigeria U23 team at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio, where Nigeria won bronze medal.

His improvement at Anorthosis helped him cement his spot as the first choice right full back of the senior national team of Nigeria, the Super Eagles.
