Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, better known as Shallipopi, has claimed that he would continue to make money from music even if he stops singing.

The singer, who rose to fame with his hit single “Elon Musk”, said this in a recent interview with the Zero Conditions podcast.

Shallipopi described proceeds from music as a money ritual, adding that he never runs out of cash.

“I no dey balance anything; if my family request, I dey give because I know that, the music will not stop. Even if I stop singing, the music I’ve dropped will continue giving me money,” he said.

The Edo-born singer also revealed how he got his first-ever show in Port Harcourt for N50K after spending four days in Lagos looking for a place to stay.

He said he faced many challenges and rejections in the beginning of his career, but he never gave up on his dream.

“I was doing everything with my phone. I never met any distribution company,” he said.

Shallipopi is currently signed to Dvpper Music Distribution, a Nigerian music record distribution founded by Damillola Akinwunmi.
