In a heartwarming video which has gone viral on social media, showing an emotional moment between football legend and Cameroonian football federation president, Samuel Eto’o and a longtime friend whose name is undisclosed who now works as a security guard.
The video, captured during an event in Douala, Cameroon, shows Eto’o—currently the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation—recognizing his former teammate in the crowd.
Dressed in his security uniform, the man immediately caught Eto’o’s eye, and the two shared a heartfelt exchange.
Eto’o, who rose to international fame with top clubs like Barcelona, greeted his old friend warmly, recalling their days playing together.
Despite his busy schedule, Eto’o made it a point to promise a future meet-up. He introduced his friend to his assistant, Christian, ensuring that they would reconnect soon.
Eto’o could be heard saying, “We need to meet up. We can’t speak right now because I have meetings in 10 minutes, but tell Christian to do everything. We meet up; we’re going to speak, my friend. I’m happy to see you.”
