Estate Developing Conglomerate, Brains And Hammers Sacks 150 Staff, Owes Suppliers
Housing Estate giant, Brains and Hammers has sacked over 150 staff, BlackBox Nigeria can reliably report.
Information reaching BBN360 revealed most of those sacked were the staff working in the Abuja sites of the company namely Apo 3 , Apo 4, Lifecamp, Galadimawa, and City.
Accordong to a reliable source, Brains and Hammers City had the highest hit where over 75 staff were fired in a downsizing operation said to be ongoing in the Estate Developing company.
The source told BBN360 that lack of fund was the main reason for the sack as work had slowed down for more than two months in their sites with suppliers being owed millions of Naira.
“Suppliers have not been paid for over three months now. Brains and Hammers is one of the biggest construction company in Abuja and Nigeria at large. Many of their Estates remain unoccupied probably due to the economic situation in the country, ” the source told BBN360.
Another affected staff said he had worked for Brains and Hammers for 5years only for him to find his name amongst the list of staff that were retrenched.
Amongst staff sacked were security guards, team aids, material managers, supervisors, site managers, team heads and project managers.
