Elon Musk Set to Relocate SpaceX and X Headquarters to Texas in Protest of California’s Transgender Law

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and X (formerly Twitter), has announced the relocation of both companies’ headquarters from California to Texas.

This decision comes as a direct response to California’s newly signed law, which prohibits schools from informing parents about changes to a student’s gender identity.

Musk, a vocal critic of the law, stated that it “attacks both families and companies” and that he had previously warned California Governor Gavin Newsom of the consequences of such legislation.

The billionaire entrepreneur has been a long-time advocate for parental rights and has expressed his disdain for the use of preferred pronouns, viewing it as part of a “woke” agenda that poses a danger to society.

The law in question reverses previous decisions made by conservative school districts that required teachers to notify parents of changes to a student’s name, pronouns, or participation in programs that don’t align with their official gender. Newsom, has been at odds with conservatives over gender issues in state schools.

Musk’s decision to relocate his companies is seen as a significant blow to California’s economy and a victory for Texas, which has become a hub for tech companies in recent years.

In a statement, Musk said, “This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.” He also announced the transfer of X’s headquarters from San Francisco to Austin, a move he had threatened before but never carried out.

Meanwhile, Musk has previously relocated Tesla’s headquarters from Palo Alto to Austin, Texas.
