Elegushi’s brother beats Obanikoro’s son to clinch APC ticket for Eti-Osa Reps seat

The immediate past Secretary/Legal Adviser of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Prince Oyekanmi Elegushi has clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for the House of Representatives seat in Eti Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos State.

Oyekanmi, the younger brother of top Lagos monarch, the Elegushi of Ikate Land, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, won the APC House of Representatives primary held on Friday.

According to the final results, he polled 25 votes to defeat the incumbent, Babajide Obanikoro who secured 23 votes, while the other aspirant in the race, Azeez Raji Rasaki had just two votes in the hotly-contested election.

Babajide, a son of former Minister and Senator, Musiliu Obanikoro, was seeking a second term in the green chamber. He won the Eti-Osa Reps seat in 2019.
