El-Rufai declares NLC National President wanted, as thugs disrupt protest in Kaduna

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has declared the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, wanted over the five-day warning strike in the State.

El-Rufai, who had earlier described the strike as a campaign against the state’s economy and social sabotage, promised a ‘handsome reward’ for any information on Wabba’s whereabouts.

In a tweet, the Governor said Ayuba Wabba and others of NLC Headquarters, were declared wanted for economic sabotage and attacks on public infrastructure under Miscellaneous Offences Act.

It would be recalled that NLC had vowed that the strike will continue unless the state government attends to the workers grievances.

In the meantime, some miscreants wielding machetes and sticks today disrupted the ongoing NLC protest in Kaduna.

The miscreants stormed the protest scene along Nepa Roundabouts to chase away the protesters who gathered to protest the State Government’s decision to sack workers.

Policemen however dispersed the hoodlums with tear gas, while security agents later arrived to maintain law and order.
