Eko Boys High school on Friday registered their third win on the bounce as they came from a goal down to defeated the so called “giant of Mushin” Success FA at the Eko Boys sports centre, Idi – oro, Mushin.
The Ekorians who bowed out to Igbobi college in the quarter finals of last season’s GTB Master’s Cup are doing everything to reclaim the trophy that has left the school since 2014.
The Euba boys have played three high profile friendlies this season and winning all the games, scoring 7 goals and conceding 3 in the process. After defeating Lyon Blessing and Ansar Ud Deen College, isolo. All focus was shifted to the fierce battle against Success FA.
Multiple Cup winners, Success FA defeated Eko Boys 4 – 1 this time last season and the wine and blue boys were so eager to get their own pound of flesh against a more physical Success side.
Both teams started very well, but the visitor drew first blood while “Ramos” was receiving treatment outside the field which reduced the Ekorians to ten men and made the boys in blue have a one man advantage.
Success FA went to the break with a 1-0 advantage hoping to get more in the second half.
However, things didn’t go as planned for the visitors as the introduction of Ishola Bashiru and Joshua into the midfield changed the face of the game drastically.
The boys in wine got their first goal via a well taken freekick by “Ramos” only for Super sub Ajayi to head to ball into the net with his first touch of the game.
Now the pressure was now on the visitors as the Rev.Euba boys had gotten more courage to play.
Finally, it happened in the last minutes when left back “Yaro” ran into a lose ball in the eighteen yard box, which he converted brilliantly to take the score line to 2-1 this time with the boys in wine leading.
This win marks the first time the boys in wine would come from behind to win a game at any level.
