The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stated that its chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, received medical attention after he felt unwell at a public event.
According to Premium Times, this was contained in a statement by its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, noting that Bawa is hale and hearty.
Recall that there were reports that the EFCC boss slumped on stage while speaking at the National Identity Day celebration at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.
Some online media outlets had reported that Bawa was hurriedly rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Abuja for treatment.
The EFCC spokesperson, however, has narrated the agency’s version of what transpired at the event.
Uwujaren said, “This clarification became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell and had to return to his seat.
“He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk.”
