The Department of State Services (DSS) has finally released the former media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, after 3 spending days in custody.
Yakasai, known as ‘Dawisu’ on social media platform Twitter, was arrested over the weekend by the secret police in Kano while “on his way to a barbing salon.”
This happened hours after he called for President Muhammadu Buhari to resign over his inability to prevent the recent abduction of schoolgirls in Zamfara State among other security concerns.
“Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties. Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign,” he had tweeted.
His comments, however, didn’t go well with his principal, Governor Ganduje as he was immediately relieved of his appointment.
Though the DSS initially denied reports that it invited or arrested Yakasai, the agency’s spokesman, Peter Afunanya, later confirmed that he was in their custody.
