By The arrest of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, has been confirmed by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Peter Afunanya, the DSS spokesperson, verified the arrest through a statement posted on his Twitter handle on Saturday.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) confirms that Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is currently in its custody for investigative purposes,” Afunanya stated.
It should be noted that the DSS had earlier dismissed a report claiming that Emefiele was in their custody on Saturday.
On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu suspended Emefiele from his position.
